The Hunt

Our hunters arrive the day before their hunt. This day is set aside for moving in, target practice and an evening bear meeting which is very important and has increased our hunter's success rates. The meeting is like being in "boot camp" to prepare you for the unexpected. Get to bed early so that you can be ready for your first day of hunting. Check-out is the morning after your hunt.

ALL PRICES ARE IN U.S. FUNDS:

REGULAR HUNT: (August 15th thru September) is $1,500.00 per person (fully equipped H.K. cabins to cook your own meals), Deposit required: $500.00 per person

AMERICAN PLAN HUNT: $1,800.00 per person (All meals starting with Breakfast on Monday morning and ending with Dinner Friday night), Deposit required: $650.00 per person

AFTER SEPTEMBER 15th - COMBO BEAR/WOLF HUNT: $2,000.00 per person (fully equipped H.K. cabins to cook your own meals), Deposit required: $750.00 per person

AMERICAN PLAN BEAR/WOLF HUNT: $2,300.00 per person (All meals starting with Breakfast on Monday morning and ending with Dinner Friday night), Deposit required: $750.00 per person

NON-HUNTING PARTNER: $600.00 per person, Deposit required: $200.00 per person

FOR THE HUNTS LISTED ABOVE, ONE 14 FT. BOAT IS SUPPLIED PER PARTY. BRING A SMALL MOTOR WITH YOU IF YOU WANT TO DO SOME FISHING.

Prices do not include your bear license, export tag, gun permit or taxes. Licenses can be purchased when you cross the border. All info is sent out to you including gun forms before you come up to hunt.

Deposits: We accept all major credit cards. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to another hunter who is already booked. Balance is due on arrival by Traveler’s cheques, Cashier’s cheque or Cash. Please, no personal cheques or credit cards on balance. There is a 6% g.s.t. tax on your total hunt and 5% p.s.t. tax on accommodation only.

We would like this experience to be a memorable one for everyone in camp. By the time you arrive, we have done most of the work in preparation for your hunt.

• Bear in our far northern location are relatively disease free and free of ticks

Please note: Your deposit must be in within 2 weeks of booking your hunt. Remember to add additional postage for mail to Canada.. Mail coming to Canada takes 8 to 10 days.

Hi. I just wanted to thank-you guys for giving me the hunt of my life. I just got a call from Ken one of the other hunters that was there with me while I was hunting. You guys did an excellent job on finding just the right stand for him to hunt on his very last night there. He was so excited that he got his bear, and a very nice one at that I am told (500 LBS). We had a fine trip home with no additional adventures.
What a great time we had at the Black Bear Camp. It's been a while since I've laughed as often and felt as relaxed as I was that week. Not that the bears didn't scare the heck out of me on that Monday night. You asked if you could use my name as a reference. You can certainly use my name in that way. Walter took a number of photo's could I request a copy of those when you get them back. I can't seem to lay my hands on my camera. I wish you all the best. Take good care of yourself. Just wanted to send you a letter to tell you we had a great time at your camp. We were impressed with the fine detail you put in your bear hunts. We all didn't get bears but it was no fault of yours, sometimes the bears don't cooperate and that we can live with. When we booked this trip we were looking for an honest outfitter and that's exactly what you delivered. So once again thanks for the fine memories we will always remember and when we book a bear hunt in the future your no.1 on our list. Thanks and see you in the future.

I would just like to tell you what a great time we had on our hunt in September. Big, or should I say huge bear, great fishing, top notch guides and last but not least, wonderful hosts. When I met Walt at the All Canada Show, he was not one of those fancy "lodge types" that you usually find peddling luxury trips, and that impressed me. You see, most hunters would rather have a to the point hunt, minus all the non-essential frills. What  you offer is just that. An honest hunt for the buck. Out of all hunters you had in the week we were there, only one went home without a bear, and that was because he went home early. 17 out of 18 isn't bad. And how about the wolves and fishing....huge walleyes and a limit within an hour! We will be back, and this time our better halves will be coming...they are jealous of the time we had. To all those who are thinking of a bear hunt, you will not find a better camp or hosts than Walt and Mary. This is big and wild country, and they know it best. Our largest bear was over 600 lbs.. Not too shabby. This place is remote, and wonderful.
