FISHING Our waters await your baited hook. Fish
species found in Loring area are Walleye, Bass (small & large mouth), Northern Pike,
Crappie and Pan Fish. Over 12 years ago the cottagers and tourist operators started the first pond reared walleye hatchery in the province of Ontario. Since that time the group has released hundreds of thousands of walleye fingerlings as well as making major improvements to area spawning beds. This has been the success of an ongoing fishery in these area waters. The Pickerel River is controlled by water level dams, which maintain the water levels throughout the fishing season. These dams were put into place back in the days when the Loring area was known for its timber. These dams created our present waterway, joining smaller lakes into one body of water. You can imagine the variety of fishing spots made from this increase in water levels. Structure and cover in the small inlets and bays, depths that vary from 14' to 100' allow the many species to find good cover and food. The back lakes are great for bass and pike with portages with a 30 to 60 minute hike.
L. & R. FISHING ADVENTURES Located on the Pickerel River waterways, and with approximately 20 years experience locally, L. & R. Fishing Adventures will offer fishing instruction and limited guiding services through Pine Grove Resort Cottages. They specialize in instruction for first time fishermen and for children, using either your own fishing equipment, or theirs, as needed. Also featured are locally made bass and pike lures with instruction on how, where and when to use them for best results.

WATERCRAFT We power our 14' and 16' fiberglass and aluminum boats with 10 HP Mercury Motors, which are suitable for the Pickerel River. Our deluxe aluminum boat and motor package includes 15 h.p. Mercury 4-stroke electric start motor, live well, lights, fish finder, padded seats with back rests, storage, automatic bailers and vinyl floor. This year we will be adding two deluxe aluminum
boats, outfitted with an electric A boat launch is located on our property as well as docking for owners of their own boats. With boat rentals we supply the new safety equipment required by the recent changes by the Canadian Coast Guard. If you have you're own personal life vest or a special size for youth or xx size we would encourage you to bring them along. Pine Grove is open from May 15 to November 15.
