FALL BLACK BEAR HUNT

THE CHALLENGE OF THE HUNT

The Restoule area has a healthy population of black bears with the hunters sighting more bears each year (32 sighted in 2000 and 48 sighted in 2001). In 2003, 54 bears were sighted by 8 hunters. In 2005, 77 bears were sighted by 10 hunters. 2006 saw 13 hunters shoot 11 bears, and they sighted over 40. In 2007 10 hunters out of 12 had a change to harvest a bear, with 7 taken. The method of hunting black bears is over baits using portable tree stands. Many of the baits are in thick bush so be prepared to set up your tree stand anywhere from 10-30 yards from the bait. The price per person for the bear hunt package is $1345.00 U.S. funds and includes:

  -6 days hunting
-accommodation and applicable taxes for 7 nights in our comfortable, housekeeping cottages
         (one hunter per bedroom)
-bait and baited area (you must provide your own transportation to and from the baited area)
  -bait orientation upon arrival
-assistance with skinning your trophy and freezer service
-not included in package: non-resident hunting licence/meals/export permit

The minimum number of hunters required for this package is two. A $250.00 U.S. non-refundable deposit is required per hunter when booking. The charge for extra guests who are not bear hunting is $230.00 U.S. funds per person/week (applies to two or more hunters). The cost for one hunter plus a guest will be the price of the bear hunt plus one half of the price of the weekly cottage rate. The guest will be responsible for the other half of the cottage rental.

Our comfortable, housekeeping cottages are on the waterfront and face west for picturesque sunsets.  We run a top quality bear hunt, with many of our hunters returning for repeat hunts so book early to avoid disappointment. Contact us for a complete black bear hunt package including introduction letter, additional information, past hunter references, a map of Martin's Camp hunting area (b.m.a.) and past bear baiting schedules.

The 2008 fall black bear hunt will take place between Monday, September 1 and Saturday, September 20.

Other notes:
-the weekly charge applies whenever bear is shot.
-hunting and fishing licences are sold on the premises and you are welcome to bring along fishing equipment as we have access to a variety of lakes.
-the cost of a non-resident bear licence is approximately $190.00 (Canadian funds).
-successful hunters will need to purchase an export permit. ($40.00).

Accepted methods of payment are cash; US. money order or cheque and must be paid upon arrival.
