| Hunting Small Game
The area abounds in
both ruffed and spruce grouse and snowshoe hares. Considerable success can be achieved
when hunting these species during their peak cycles. Also a variety of ducks and Canada
Geese can be found along the waterways during the fall season.
Bear Hunts
Hunt black bear in the
Algoma Kinniwabi wilderness area. All hunting is done from either tree or ground blinds at
pre-baited hunting sites. Baited sites are established & maintained well in advance of
the season. Hunts are conducted in exclusive areas without competition from other
outfitters & the number of hunters taken per week is limited. Fishing can be combined
with a 7 day hunt, for maximum enjoyment during your stay at camp. No false guarantees are
made, but every effort is put forth to create quality hunting standards and maintain a
high success rate. Bear hunting is our business and not a sideline.

For the benefit of
hunters not familiar with bear hunting over a bait. Baiting is the only proven method
under which a bear can be hunted with maximum success. Hunting over bait is a waiting game
which requires long hours of sitting and waiting, quietly, usually from mid-afternoon to
late evening. All pre-season baiting is done by me until the hunter arrives. Upon arrival
you will be shown an active bait and required to check your own bait or baits for the
duration of your hunt. Daily bait checks by hunters are an important part of success. All
bait is furnished and hunters must re-bait whenever necessary. Hunters must furnish their
own transportation to and from the hunting areas. Although it may not be necessary, in
some areas an ATV can be very helpful. (Law requires a helmet) and proof of insurance. All
sites are equipped with either a ground or tree blind constructed to make the hunters as
comfortable as possible. Complete freezing facilities are supplied at camp for hides and
meat.
