ENJOY THE GREAT FISHING…..
The North Channel Islands and the famous Spanish River offer some of the best fishing in Northeastern Ontario. Brennan Harbour Resort is the only lodge located on 14 mile long Whalesback Channel which is literally dotted with hundreds of rocky islands and secluded bays. The beauty of the Whalesback Channel will capture your heart and get you excited about the great fishing potential these wilderness waters hold. Our secluded location is also just minutes by boat from the mouth of the famous Spanish River and its many fishing opportunities.

Fishing the Whalesback Channel of Lake Huron and the Spanish River offers anglers a wide variety of fishing action. Walleye (Pickerel), Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Perch tend to be the most sought after, but there are also Musky, Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout and Salmon. This area has remained relatively untouched. You will always be able to find a secluded bay.

GOOD FISHING ALL YEAR….
The fishing season begins the 3rd Saturday of May. When the ice melts, the shallows are the warmest and the fishing action is fast and furious for Walleye and Northern Pike. Most fish seek cooler water by mid July and you will have to adjust down for them. As fall approaches in late August, the surface water starts to cool down and Bass and Walleye concentrate, so when you find them it will provide some of the best fishing ever. Remember that late August and September is trophy Northern Pike time. Fishing remains good all season long, but you do have to adjust your fishing techniques to the season, and we will advise you on depths and spots to fish depending on the time of year.

HELPFUL ADVICE….
We provide contour maps of the Whalesback Channel and the Spanish River that illustrate water depths, structure and other helpful information. We will inform you of the current hot spots and we will assist you with your choice and colors of lures and the best rigging to use.

Should you want to hire a local guide for a day or two during your stay, we can help arrange for a guide that knows these waters and knows how to catch fish.

THE GEAR

QUALITY BOATS AND MOTORS….
Included in all Brennan Harbour Resort package plans are 16 foot aluminum boats, fully equipped with fish finders, flat floors, swivel seats with backrests and powered by dependable 20 hp outboards. Life vest, safety equipment, landing nets, anchor and paddles are furnished with each boat at no additional charge.

UPGRADE BOATS….
Why not give yourself a real treat and upgrade your package with either our new 16 foot Lund powered by 20 hp electric start Honda four stroke or our new 17 foot Lund Boat with flat open floors, 3 padded pedestal seats, rod locker, storage, aerated live well and Eagle fish finder. THE COTTAGES

All of our cottages are modern and fully equipped for housekeeping, each with its own private lakefront deck with a spectacular view of the Islands of the North Channel. Inside you will enjoy a full modern bath, full sized fridge and stove, automatic coffee maker, microwave, toaster, all cooking utensils and all your bed linens and blankets. The cabins have electric heat and can sleep from 2 to 6 people in comfort.

THE BEACHES

Our main centre beach is a natural clean sand beach, flanked by rock outcroppings.  It is private, off to the side of the resort, offering seclusion.   The west beach is ideal for walking, driftwood gathering and bird watching.

THE HOUSEKEEPING PLAN ….
This package includes an immaculate cottage fully equipped for housekeeping and also includes a boat and motor for every 2 adults. These boats are equipped with flat floors, swivel seats with backrest, fish finder, landing net and life vests. (Please bring your own towels for the cabin.)

THE EVENING MEAL PLAN….
This is one of our most popular packages plans and it includes everything that is included in the housekeeping plan package: fully equipped cabin and a boat and motor as described above for every 2 adults, plus it includes a wonderful home cooked supper served in the main lodge nightly.

THE AMERICAN PLAN….
Our American plan is a full service package designed to give you the best Canadian wilderness experience possible. In addition to your fully equipped lakefront cabin and a boat and motor for every 2 adult fishermen, you will also enjoy daily maid service. In this package towels are supplied and changed daily. And don't forget the meals. We provide three delicious meals a day. Breakfast includes cereals, bacon, ham, sausage, eggs, pancakes, french toast, and coffee, tea, juice and milk. A great packed lunch including sandwich, fresh fruit, home baked cookies or bars, and a beverage. As for supper, all meals are home cooked with portions to delight even a hearty Northwood's appetite. Roast Beef, Pork Chops and Baked Chicken are examples of the fine dining provided and are complimented by soup or salad, home made bread, beverages and a delicious dessert. If you have special dietary needs, just let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.

THE FACILITIES….
For your added convenience, Brennan Harbour provides a screened in fish cleaning facility with electricity and running water. Our screened gazebo is perfect for sharing the day's fishing stories, and it is equipped with a gas bar-b-que for your enjoyment. For those of you bringing your own boats, we provide launching, docking and battery charging at no cost. When you are not fishing you can enjoy a game of horseshoes, sit around the campfire pit in the evening, or take a walk along the shore where you will have some great wildlife and bird watching opportunities. It is possible to see moose, deer, beaver, otter as well as bald eagles, blue heron and many other species of birds in their natural environment. You will never forget the haunting call of the loon and our magnificent northern sunsets: don't forget to bring your camera.

Within a 35 minute drive of the lodge, we also have 3 golf courses and horseback riding. Along the way you will also find one of the largest Indian Trading Posts in Northeastern Ontario. Fishing licenses, night crawlers, ice and souvenir T-Shirts, hats and sweatshirts are available at the lodge at Brennan Harbour.
